1994 - 1995.

Hong Kah Secondary School requested for help from Scout HQ to start Scouting as a CCA in the new school. CTSS Griffin Scout Troop leaders came to help out. The first Scout Leaders in HKSS Gryphon Scout Troop were Nick Seah, Daud Mustapa and Tan Kian Hwee.

The Intention was to start a meaningful CCA which can help to reach out to youths at risk of delinquency. The Scout leaders organised a camp for about 10 of these youths at risk held at Sarimbun. This formed the first patrol of Scouts in HKSS.

 1996.

We formally recruited our first batch of around 20 Sec. One Scouts on our first ECA (CCA was known as extra curricular activity at that time) orientation day.
