Scouting began on the 1st of August,1907 when our founder, Lord Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden Powell also known as B.P held the first scouting encampment on Brownsea Island in England with 20 young boys from different walks of life. It was on this day that the scouting movement was born in England and later, throughout the world. The movement employs a program of informal education with an emphasis on practical outdoor activities including camping, woofcraft, hiking, backpacking and sports.
